News from the Washington, DC Director

This fall has been a great time of rest and rejuvenation for our city staff. We have been blessed with great weather, great ministry and great times. One of our most fun times this fall has been working with DC Central Kitchen and helping with their annual food fight.
One of the greatest issues in our city is hunger, particularly with children. Many of the children we work with every day would not receive adequate nutrition were it not for DC Central Kitchen. DC Central provides meals to over 4,000 individuals a day, while training those who prepare the meals for good paying jobs in the catering/food service business in DC. Our groups see the impact they make through DC Central Kitchen when serving at other organizations throughout the city. The food they helped to prepare at DC Central Kitchen is served at numerous organizations and ministries CSM also partners with in DC!
I encourage you to read more about DC Central Kitchen in this article written by the Washington Post.
