Left to right: Carrie, Adrienne, Anna, Emily Graves, Carly (volunteer), Keysha Boggess (City Director) and Emily Frank.

Carrie Bailey
Carrie is from Fort Collins, CO and is studying Special Education at the University of Northern Colorado. Her first mission trip was with CSM to Chicago in the 9th grade. She has since been on another weeklong mission trip to Chicago through JPUSA. Carrie also went to Mexico for two weeks, to Norway and Latvia for 6 weeks and to Nicaragua for one week. In her school program, she has completed 192 hours in junior high and high school settings. Carrie has spent about a year and a half working with the high school youth group at her church. She loves being active. Hiking and backpacking are some of her favorite activities. She loves to paint using watercolors! “I am working for CSM this summer because I have a big heart for service and for the youth. My hope is that I will be able to instill a joy and love for service and people who are downtrodden in many youth’s heart.”

Emily Frank
Emily will be a senior at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. She is studying Kinesiology and Business and plans on continuing onto Occupational Therapy school after she graduates. She grew up in the suburbs of Chicago and has been a Bears fan from birth! Emily’s all time favorite mission trip was traveling down to Mississippi with her mom and aunt six months after Hurricane Katrina hit. Not only did they build homes, but they built relationships with the people there that will be with her forever. She’s an avid biker and loves white water rafting and just being outdoors in general! She is also blessed to have family and friends that provide her with an endless support system and enough laughter to fill a lifetime. “I feel as though my calling is to not only serve those in need, but enable others to serve as well. I can only do so much with my two hands, but by teaching empathy and generosity to CSM students, the amount of service done in Denver will grow exponentially!”

Emily Graves
Emily comes from a small town in Louisiana called Bogalusa, where all they do is make paper. Her love of anything art coupled with huge, nerdy skills on a computer makes her an enthusiastic digital art major at Southeastern Louisiana University. During her free time in Denver, when she is not scouting out awesome art galleries, you will most likely find Emily reading. She spent a summer on the island of Molokai, Hawaii as an intern for Kaunakakai Baptist Church. The best part of the whole trip was spending two and a half weeks in the rain forest with the youth of the island. Emily has been on various mission trips in the past four years including 2 trips to Hawaii, 2 trips to New York City (one with CSM!), Miami, and Cleveland, Tennessee (roofing!). Emily served with CSM as a host the summer of 2007. “I am excited to make new friends within CSM and the groups that come through. I hope to show the love of Christ in my actions and words and to spread his love and grace around the city (and have a good time doing it)!”

Anna Hurt
Anna is a sophomore and nursing major at Mesa State College. She currently lives in the town that I was born and raised in, Grand Junction, CO. She has been on two “official” mission trips. Her first was when she was 16, she went to LA for an inner-city mission trip with CSM for one week. The second mission trip she went on was part of a Discipleship Training School with Youth with a Mission where she spent two months in Bangladesh. Anna’s junior and senior years of High School she was able to work/help as a youth leader in her church. During this time she was also able be a part of a service evangelism team within the same church. Something unique about Anna is that she loves to travel. She sincerely enjoys going to new places and trying new things while meeting new people. “When it comes to this summer I am really looking forward to being part of a team/staff that is totally geared toward sharing Jesus in a practical way. I am eager to establish new friendships and learn new things from both the people that I am serving with as well as the people I have the opportunity to serve. I am spending the summer in Denver because that’s where God put me when I marked “available to work anywhere” this summer!”

Adrienne Lamar acting associate city director
Adrienne is from Conway, AR and is a graduate of the University of Central Arkansas with a BS in Sociology. Over the years, she has been on mission trips working with the homeless, building houses for families in Mexico and teaching English to a community in the Czech Republic for a summer with the United Methodist Volunteers in Mission. She have also been an intern for Connect to the Kingdom in Dallas for one summer. Adrienne has been volunteering and working with youth for 4 years. She loves to play soccer and was a feature twirler in the University marching band. She has a passion for ministry, for missions, for youth, and for the oppressed and therefore has come to serve and to learn. Adrienne has served as a host with CSM in Houston and is excited about serving in Denver!
