Sarah Foil
Sarah is from Overland Park, KS. She just finished her 4th year at KU and has one year left to complete her BA in PhotoMedia. She has been on a missions trip to LA with her church in High School. Sarah was a small group leader for the junior high at her church, worked with high schoolers at a Young Life camp for a summer, and has led a girl’s bible study at her apartment in Lawrence for the past two years. She loves her daily dose of coffee, enjoys art (especially photography), getting to know new faces and conversation. playing outside, riding bikes and the Farmer’s Market on Saturdays! “I am excited to walk along side the people I interact with daily, share life with the students who get to spend the week in Denver and prayerfully encourage people I encounter each day. I am here to learn.”

Brooke Grasham
Brooke is from Prattville, AL. She is a recent graduate from Montana Wilderness School of the Bible, and received a certificate of Biblical Studies with an emphasis in Leadership Disciplines. Through an Outreach Program at school, she lived at a local homeless shelter, an experience which opened her eyes and pulled her heart towards urban ministry. Her first mission trips were both cross–cultural, where she spent time in Matamoros, Mexico, and Rio De Janeiro, Brazil, working in a slum. She volunteered in inner city mission trips in Texas and Mississippi. Her first CSM mission trip was to Denver, February 2010. Since graduation, she had several opportunities to work with youth, leading Bible studies and chaperoning events. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, traveling, hanging out with friends and anything outdoors! She is excited to be working with CSM in Denver this summer. “God has given me a passion for people and a desire to meet their practical needs, as I share with them the love of Christ.”

Carly O'Connor
Carly is from Longmont, CO and is continuing at Front Range Community College next fall for her Associate’s degree in Communications. Her first mission trip experience was to Agua Prieta and Hermosillo, Mexico. Carly has also been to Las Vegas through YouthWorks as well as to Denver as one of CSM Denver’s first groups. This trip led her to her calling of Urban Ministry. Carly has helped host groups with CSM Denver since last summer, including serving as CSM Denver’s spring City Host. We are excited to have her back for the summer 2010 as well! In her spare time, Carly likes to read, write, sing, play guitar, and listen to music. Carly is a middle school youth group leader at her home church and also sings in their praise band at the contemporary service. “My goal for working with CSM is to share my insane love of the city and of Christ with groups, hopefully helping them see God in the city like CSM did with me.”

Julie Sullivan
Julie is from Beaverton, OR and will be a junior at Whitworth University in Spokane, WA, with a sociology major. Her first mission trip was to San Francisco with CSM. God completely used that trip to change her heart, and for her to realize a deep compassion for those less fortunate. She has also been on mission trips to New Orleans, the Appalachian region, and Jamaicca. Julie believes that God has blessed her with so much in her life and wants to be able to share His love with others and give back in whatever way that she can. She has definitely felt a pull towards urban ministry and really getting the opportunity to spend time with people and let them know they are loved. In her spare time Julie enjoys being active, playing sports, and spending time doing outdoor activities. She also enjoys spending time with friends and family, as well as her random hobbies, such as juggling and scrapbooking. “I am really excited for this opportunity to work with CSM this summer, and to truly devote this summer completely to serving others with the love of Christ every day. I am excited to see the ways that God will challenge me and continue to break my heart for what breaks his. I am also excited to see the impact and growth that others experience while on their CSM trips.”
