CSM City Journal
September 2008

Hello!
As we head into fall, we are so blessed to be able to look back at an immensely fruitful summer. Many lives have been changed just by a few days of serving God's people in the city. Here are some great reflections from this past summer:
“I was given the opportunity to speak in English and Spanish and learned incredible stories of the people I talked to. I could have talked forever. It made me realize that if you just give people the time of day they are dying to open up and talk” (New York City Trip Participant)
"God has taught me to have a more sincere and humble heart for service, and a renewed compassion." (Los Angeles Trip Participant)
"When people ask you what you did this past week, wouldn't it be something if you could say, 'Watch me - you'll know what I did then, by what I do now.'" (Toronto City Host)
Email us and let us know how your time with CSM in the city went!

Hurricane Ike Update
Hurricane Ike swept through Houston this past weekend, leaving quite a destructive impact on it's way out.

CSM has three full-time staffers, many partner ministry sites, and countless individuals we love very much in the heart of Houston. Please join us in prayer for them and we invite you to read a recent blog with updates from the city.

City Highlight: Philadelphia

Upon arrival at the CSM Philly housing site, most people are greeted by at least 3 kids who live in the neighborhood. They will proudly say, “Welcome to CSM Philadelphia (emphasis on Philadelphia), my name is Baron”. And most people have these same kids dangling from their arms and legs by the time they make it to the door.

Job Opening: Registration Administrator
The CSM Home Office (Dana Point, CA) has a job opening for a Registration Administrator. This position will assist the home office team in answering phones, registering groups, maintaining communication with CSM City Directors and a variety of other tasks. The ideal candidate would have a heart for urban missions, be detail-oriented and a quick learner. Please download the complete description.
