Autumn is a beautiful reminder of God's handiwork. Just as we
are surrounded by the beauty of His nature, we are also surrounded by His handiwork
shining in His children. What a joy to see lives transformed by His mercy and love.
What a privilege to do His work in His cities!
For this month's CSM Impact interview, we have the opportunity to get to know Jason Martin,
CSM Washington, DC City Director.
Come and discover the real Toronto - this month's
City Highlight. If you'd

Dan Reeve began as
CSM’s third president in September of 2008. Before coming to CSM,
Dan served seventeen years as Urban Mission Director for the Evangelical Free Church
Urban-Intercultural Mission.
Dan's passion for often-forgotten people in urban America was born
from his own experiences
growing up on the streets of New York City and having his life transformed by a small urban
Church that adopted him.
Last month, Hurricane Ike devastated much of Houston, TX
with it's strong winds and driving rain. Many of the ministries CSM partners with and our
Houston housing site were not spared the wrath of Ike.
"In order to continue helping the city during the crises of Hurricane
Ike's aftermath, we will need to make extensive repairs to the CSM site," says CSM
President Dan Reeve, "We will need to replace all of the furniture and appliances in the
staff housing as well as make construction repairs and replace flooring, carpeting and paint
the entire facility. Though insurance will cover the structural damage to the roof it
will not cover our damage and loss."
Please pray for the CSM Houston team as they continue to pour themselves into
restoring this city.

City
Highlight: Toronto
As in every major city these days, every new season
brings change. New construction, new businesses, new by-laws, and
everyone's favorite, new taxes. Toronto is no exception. These days
there seems to be more changing than there is staying the same.
We have a new tax on garbage, a new annual vehicle registration tax,
new tax on home sales, and of course new tax increases.
Regent Park, Canada's oldest and largest government housing project, is
in the process of being torn down so the city can "renew" it.
In 1998, Jason Martin was a senior Chemistry Major at Messiah College.
All was going well – he was almost done with school and ready to head
into the “real world” with a successful career on the horizon. But his
world was rocked that year by participating with Messiah College’s
Service Teams on a short term trip to Washington, DC with CSM.
There is
still time to sign up for your Winter or Spring 2009 mission trip! Call the home office
to find out the availability of the city you want to serve in.
