City Highlight

Philadelphia

With over 146,000 students, the Philadelphia School District is the 8th largest district in the country and, unfortunately, one of the most violent.

With recent budget cuts to the school district threatening to cut security and extracurricular activities, options in creating safe schools and safe places for students are dwindling.

Looking for creative ways to donate to CSM Philadelphia? Check out their Wish List. Items include mattresses, gardening tools, and more. Feel free to print it and post it, and please don't hesitate to email us if you have any questions!

Here are a few ministries that you may have the opportunity to partner with in Beantown:

Seafarer's Friend provides much needed services to the men and women who come through Boston’s ports on large ships. Because of high security restrictions, very few ship workers are allowed to get off their vessel while staying in the harbor. Seafarer’s Friend is able to board the ships, bring the crew calling cards, conduct church services, and bring them "ditty bags" at Christmas time.

St. Luke's-San Lucas Episcopal Church provides food to over 800 families each month. CSM groups have the opportunity to partner in preparing and handing out groceries to neighbors in need.
