| Houston Summer Staff Team 2004 |
Houston staff from left to right: Associate City Director Lauren Aulbert,
Jessica Snyder, Diana Hamil, Brent Ladd, Mary Niemann, Robyn Elmore, Michael Frels,
City Director Paul Randall.
|
Jessica Snyder - Jessica is from Wichita, Kansas and
is a Senior Music Education major/Religion & Philosophy minor at Friends
University (Wichita). She works in the Campus Ministries department at her
school and has served as a member of the Campus Ministry Team for the past
2 years. Her favorite thing to do is to enjoy an ice cold Dr. Pepper with
her friends and just hang out and laugh. A veteran of two CSM Houston trips
as a student, this summer she's looking forward to putting her faith into
action and being Christ's hands & feet.
|
Mary Niemann - Mary is from Austin, Texas and is a sophomore
Sociology major at Rice University in Houston. During the school year, she
served on various committees at Rice and volunteered with local elementary
schools (she's recently discovered that children are an absolute passion
of hers). Texas is her favorite place in the world, so she's glad to be
serving in Houston and is looking forward to sharing the city with the serving
groups and connecting with God this summer.
|
Brent Ladd - Brent is from Morrison, Oklahoma and is
a senior finance major at Oklahoma State University in Stillwater. Brent's
favorite place is Northwest Oklahoma, where most of his family lives. He
loves to read mysteries and fiction, and of course he's an OSU fan, especially
football and basketball. Brent is looking forward to all the people he'll
be meeting and serving.
|
Diana Hamil - Diana is a senior at the University of
Texas at Austin majoring in Public Relations, where she enjoys biking, frisbee,
music and pretty much anything outdoors. She is from Rockwall, TX - the
smallest and fastest growing county in Texas. She played piccolo in the
Longhorn marching band, and is an active member of the campus Wesley group.
She loves purple, mashed potatoes, kids and Jesus (not necessarily in that
order). Her summer aspirations are to help others develop a heart for the
inner city.
|
Michael Frels - Michael attends Texas Tech University
where he is a third year Studio Art Major, emphasizing Fine Art Photography,
which has been a love for him for years (hopefully soon we'll get some pictures
from the summer to post on our site). He's fond of poetry and guacamole,
usually both at the same time. He also holds a deep-rooted compassion for
animals which he thinks are a beautiful aspect of God's creativity. His
mission experience includes three excursions to California and a Frontliner's
program in Oklahoma. This summer he hopes to have fun times worth savoring
while helping to bring God's kingdom to earth.
|
Robyn Elmore - Robyn recently graduated from
McMurry University, in Abilene, Texas with a BA in Sociology and a minor
in public relations. She is the second oldest of four children and her family
is very supportive of her love for the inner city. All of her family members
have attended various CSM trips, loving the experience and people they have
encountered. Her first urban experience was on a weekend trip to CSM Houston
in 1996. After returning in '97 she decided God had given her a servant's
heart and a desire to serve in the inner city, which she hopes to continue
to do in Houston, where God has planted the seed that continues to be watered
by the ministry she has encountered along the way. She started with CSM
this last spring, even helping out at the San Francisco site during Easter.
She is very excited that part of God's plan was for her to serve in Houston,
learning new things and meeting new people and her prayer for the future
is just to be able to glorify God, wherever He leads her.
