Andrew Edmonson

Andrew Edmonson

Andy is from Shreveport, LA and is currently a student at Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, LA, with a major in architecture. He is in his second year in a five-year program. Andy has been involved with the Wesley Foundation, a campus ministry on Tech’s campus for the past 2 school years. During the current year he has been in leadership and has been challenged immensely by that involvement. With the Wesley, Andy has gone on two mission trips. The first in the spring/summer of 2007 to Ukraine for one month and the second in the fall of 2007 to New Orleans to clean up and renovate homes damaged by Hurricane Katrina. Andy has never worked with junior high or high school students before and is excited about the new experience. His involved at the Wesley Foundation on Tech’s campus has been a really amazing experience and is the closest thing he has seen to real community in a church/ministry. Andy loves hanging out with friends and helping with events and activities at the Wesley Foundation. He loves being outdoors whether it is camping, fishing, or playing ultimate Frisbee. “My goal working with CSM this summer is to serve and love people who need it. I want to experience the incredible need, not only personally but with others, in impoverished areas in big cities like Houston.”

Kelli Harrison

Kelli Harrison

Kelli attended Purdue University majoring in Child Development and Family Studies. She is from Westport, Indiana (small, rural town) and comes from a family of six. She has completed interships in Chicago and Lafayette, IN and has served in Atlanta as well. She previiously worked with CSM in Los Angeles during the spring of 2005. Kelli hopes to encourage others to experience the joy that comes from serving those around us and to combat the stereotypes that often are attached to urban life. Here are a few fun facts: She’s 6′0″ tall and has met Bob Barker! She also enjoys photography, dance, and traveling. “I am very excited about the opportunity to work with CSM again because I am passionate about sharing God’s love with others in urban communities. In helping others we are enabling ourselves to be servants of Christ.”

Emily Kormash

Emily Kormash

Emily grew up in Ypsilanti, MI but has lived in Katy, TX since 2005. She is an English major at Texas A&M University in College Station, TX, where she will be a junior in the fall of 2008. Emily was very involved in her youth group at home, and has been on several mission trips to the Poconos Mountains in Pennsylvania and to a small town in Mexico. When she is not in College Station being an Aggie, Emily loves living in Houston and finding new places to shop and hang out downtown. “I am really looking forward to taking part in ministering to youth groups and the residents of Houston, and am excited to see what God is going to be doing in my life and in the lives of the people I will meet this summer!”

Adrienne Lamar

Adrienne Lamar

Adrienne is from Conway, Arkansas and is a recent graduate of the University of Central Arkansas with a BS in Sociology. Over the years, she has been on mission trips working with the homeless, building houses for families in Mexico and teaching English to a community in the Czech Republic for a summer with the United Methodist Volunteers in Mission. She has also been an intern for Connect to the Kingdom in Dallas for one summer. Adrienne has been volunteering and working with youth for 4 years. She loves to play soccer and was a feature twirler in the University marching band. “I have a passion for ministry, for missions, for youth, and for the oppressed and therefore have come to serve, to learn, and to enjoy the spring and summer here with CSM in Houston.”

Amelia Lepping

Amelia Lepping

Amelia is from Livonia, Michigan. She will be starting her sophomore year at Friends University in Wichita, KS where she is studying Religion and Philosophy with a minor in Youth Ministry. During all four years of high school, Amelia went on mission trips with Appalachia Service Project through her church. She was also blessed with the opportunity to go to Lithuania where the church group worked with an orphanage. Amelia took her first CSM mission trip with her school during spring break this year in Houston. Throughout her senior year of high school she tried to stay very involved with her youth group and was the president of their board. In college, one of her favorite groups to be involved with is called Youth Ministries Team. Amelia’s passions, besides God, are people, tennis, music, laughing, being outside and enjoying the blessings around her. “I still have a lot to learn and God is constantly showing me the way. I am so looking forward to getting to know so many people over the summer. I cannot wait to serve with all of my groups, meet the people of Houston and experience and share God’s love during every minute of the summer.”

Matt Schnarr

Matt Schnarr

Matt is a senior at Baylor University, majoring in Communications. He is originally from Conway, Arkansas, but since being at Baylor for the past 3 years he is proud to call himself an “adopted Texan.” Matt has been on a few short term mission trips within the US to Denver and New Orleans. He has also traveled to Romania with a world hunger organization to see the work they were doing. At Baylor, Matt is the student director of the campus-wide service day called “Steppin’ Out,” where over 3,000 Baylor students get the chance to go out into the Waco community and serve. He is also involved in many service projects through Mission Waco and volunteers at a local nursing home. Matt enjoys listening to music, being outside, playing tennis, sand volleyball and basketball (poorly), and just hanging out with friends and family. He is also a firm believer in, and thoroughly enjoys, afternoon power naps! “I am excited to see what I will learn this summer about both myself and others, as we work together as God’s hands and feet in Houston!”
