Kelsey Pennington
Kelsey grew up in Clear Lake, TX and that is where her family still resides. She played volleyball and softball for almost 10 years and was also involved in numerous clubs and activities at her high school. Kelsey was always very involved in her church youth group and spent a large amount of my time at church for a variety of meetings and activities. I love traveling, being outside, napping, reading, climbing, drinking coffee, and hanging out with her Momma. Presently, she attends Chapman University in Orange, CA and absolutely loves it. She is a double major in Political Science and History and plans on attending law school after graduation. She will be a sophomore this coming fall and is really excited about this next year because she knows she’s exactly where she is supposed to be. Kelsey heard about CSM when she was around 7 years old and since then she have waited, not so patiently, until she was old enough to work as a summer host. “Now that this dream is finally a reality, I couldn’t be happier. I love CSM and all the amazing work they do in the beautiful city that raised me.”

Crystal Spencer
Crystal is from Huntsville, TX. She is currently a senior at Washington and Lee University in Lexington, VA, studying mathematics. Crystal has been on mission trips to El Dorado, AK working with the Boys and Girls Clubs leading a 5-day club; Portland Cottage, Jamaica working with Food for the Poor building houses and working with children; and also to Washington, DC working with CSM at DC Central Kitchen, The Fishing School, and SOME. At school, she is a Young Life leader, and hangs out with students about 10 hrs per week. The last two summers, Crystal has been a camp counselor at the Pine Cove Timbers and has been involved in Intervarsity and Baptist Student Union back at school. Some fun facts about Crystal – she was a rodeo queen in high school, was in 4-H and once owned over 100 rabbits, and loves to jump rope and was 9th in the nation in double dutch as a 9-year old. “I desire to grow deeper in love with my Lord by learning how to love His people better. This summer, I yearn to learn better how to serve Him through serving some of His cherished and forgotten people.”

Courtney Tigney
Courtney graduated from Grand Valley State University in Allendale, MI. Through GVSU she had the opportunity to serve on short–term trips to Knoxville, Vancouver, Biloxi, and Los Angeles. These experiences helped her grow in many ways and have dramatically changed her heart. Courtney has been blessed to be able to get to know an incredible group of kids at an inner city after–school program for over the last couple of years. These kids encouraged her in so many ways and Courtney would not be here with CSM if it was not for them. Traveling, running, and learning to live a more simple life are a few things Courtney enjoys. Courtney served with CSM in Los Angeles as a City Host last summer and we are excited that she will be joining us in Houston this summer! “I am looking forward to sharing the love of Jesus with the folks that I meet this summer.”
