William (Billy) Bean

Billy was born and raised in Prescott, AZ. He is going into his senior year at The University of Arizona, studying Communication and Religious Studies. He spent the last two summers doing various ministry in California. One summer was spent in Santa Monica, CA with Campus Crusade for Christ doing evangelism. This past summer he had the opportunity to host in Los Angeles with CSM. Billy is currently a Young Life leader in north Tucson, and has been ministering to high school kids for the last 2 years. He was also a leader with Campus Crusade for Christ at U of A for over a year. He loves staying physically active, so he is always playing sports and enjoys working out and trying to stay in shape. He also has a passion for all types of music. “Last summer working with CSM was life altering. My expectations for what this summer will bring are based on this experience. I have no doubt that the Lord will customize the collective and individual experiences of our staff for His glory! I am beyond excited!!”

Emily Harris

Emily is from a small mountain town called Flagstaff, AZ. She is entering her sophomore year at Northern Arizona University (NAU) where she is studying Nursing. Emily has been on 4 mission trips to Mexico and one to Los Angeles in high school where God first showed her that her heart is immersed in urban ministry. She has worked with students at her church and loves being a part of their lives and learning from them as well as teaching. Back in Flagstaff, she has had the opportunity to work with the Sunshine Rescue Mission, a local shelter, as well as the AWANA program at her church. However, the main ministry that God has called her to has been worship. She is involved in leading worship teams in her church as well as the local Intervarsity chapter. Emily loves being outside soaking up the sun, hiking, running, playing music, ultimate Frisbee, and enjoying divinity in the ordinary, everyday parts of her life. “I can’t wait to live with and walk beside everyone I will meet in Los Angeles and I know God has so many opportunities to show me how to love and serve. This is going to be an incredible experience getting involved in the lives of others, and I am so excited to watch the lives of my teams be transformed by the power of our Savior.”

Ashley Jacobson

Ashley Jascobson is from Washington, IL. She is a Senior at North Park University in Chicago majoring in Youth Ministry. Ashley has volunteered with Young Life for 5 years (2 years with middle school kids and 3 years with High School kids). She has also been an assistant soccer coach at a high school in Chicago for 2 years. At North Park, she is the captain of the women’s soccer team and loves watching college Basketball. “I am really excited to work with Center for Student Missions this summer because it is an organization that I have never worked with before. I really wanted to try something different this summer and working for CSM in Los Angeles is very different for me. I have never been to California before so I am really excited to see God in a different area.”

Allison Schuh

Allie isfrom Chino, CA. She is a Senior at San Francisco State University, majoring in Humanities. Over the last couple years God has been opening her eyes and growing her heart for the inner city in crazy ways. Last summer, she was involved in the Bay Area Urban Project (BAyUP), an Intervarsity summer project devoted to inner city incarnational ministry. The experience changed her outlook on God and His passion for urban settings. While at San Francisco State, Allie has been involved in Intervarsity for 4 years. While in Intervarsity, she has had the privilege of leading a bible study for students in SF State’s Greek System. “I am always down to try new things and love anything that involves lots of people. I love Jesus more than life and CAN NOT wait to see God working in the City of Angels.”

Anastasia (Stasi) Timaeus

Stasi was born and raised in Beaumont, TX. She is a senior at Belmont University in Nashville, majoring in Christian Leadership and Communication Studies. She learned the relationship between faith and actions through mission trips to Uganda and Kenya, interning with an inner–city children’s ministry, and leading a mission trip to New York City in March. The diversity in her church body in Nashville has exposed her to people from all walks of life. As a leader in her youth group and a worship coordinator at Belmont, Stasi has experienced leading teens and college students. She enjoys hospitality, singing, cooking, traveling, and spending time with friends. “This summer, I want to see how God is involved in urban ministry in LA. I want to learn His heart for the ‘least of these’ and how He can use me to serve them.”

Daniel Wheeler

Daniel is from the small town of Houston, TX. He recently graduated summa cum laude from Concordia University in Austin with a degree in Youth Ministry. While at Concordia Daniel was an R.A. and played on the baseball team. His passions include youth ministry, the urban poor, eating, and hanging out. He has been on CSM trips to Houston, Philadelphia, Washington D.C., San Francisco, New York City, and Denver. He spent the previous three summers working with a youth group in Houston, Texas and will be the Middle School Director at a church in Austin following the summer in L.A. Daniel is excited about helping young people know and share the love of Christ while being “restorers of the streets” (Isaiah 58:12) in Los Angeles.
