Jes Williams – Nashville city director

Jes began serving with CSM in the fall of 2002. After graduating from Belmont University (in Nashville!) with a BA in religion, Jes spent two years working with Habitat for Humanity in South Carolina. She is thrilled to be back in Tennessee, where she grew up, and serving the groups, ministry sites, and the seasonal staff.

Jes has a slight interest in pretty much everything; particularly the creative arts, gardening, napping, reading, hiking, biking, running, her dog, decorating, conversations (both serious and nonsensical), cooking, some sports, etc. Most of the time, she chooses to just spend with her husband, Shannon, and their son, Elijah.

Austin Sauerbrei – Nashville associate city director

Austin is a Texas native and a December 2010 graduate of Belmont University’s Social Entrepreneurship program. He continues to pursue relationship with the city and is continually shaped and molded by the beautifully diverse body of Christ. Austin is passionate about understanding and confronting systems of privilege and power on both institutional and personal levels. He loves reading, gardening, coffee shops and referring to himself in the third person. He is always up for a conversation about anything except sports. Austin worked as a city host for CSM in Nashville the summer of 2009 and is excited to join the CSM team full-time!

Shruti Chandna – Apprentice

Shruti was born in India but grew up in the U.S. She graduated from Millsaps College with a B.S. degree in biology and pursued a M.S. in Biology from Mississippi College. Shruti is currently applying for dental school. She has been involved in the twenties ministry for the past three years as a community service organizer and Bible study leader. Shruti loves to sing and dance and also enjoys fashion and watching football. “Serving the Lord is the passion of my heart. I am thankful that God has given me an opportunity to serve Him by working for CSM. I pray that I am able to give to CSM as much as I receive. I would like to use my experiences to ultimately pursue dental missions in India.”

Meredith Fitzsimons – Apprentice

Meredith is a recent graduate of Trevecca Nazarene University where she majored in Communications. She is originally from Olathe, Kansas, but moved to Nashville to go to school in January of 2009. In the summer of 2011, Meredith worked for CSM as a city host and is now a part of the CSM Apprenticeship program. Meredith loves reading, seeing movies at the dollar theatre, and singing as loudly as possible to every Celine Dion and TLC song imaginable. In the future, she plans on working in urban ministry to some capacity and always loving life with her soon-to-be-husband. She is beyond excited to participate in the social justice and community development community of Nashville for the next year, and many years to come.
