Jessie Adams

Jessie Adams

Jessie was born and raised in Kentucky. She has spent her entire 20 years in Murray, a small town in western Kentucky. Jesse is a senior Communication Disorders major at Murray State University. After graduating in May 2009, she plans on pursuing a master’s degree in Speech Pathology. Jesse snorts when she laughs and believes that chocolate is a cure-all for any situation. The Lord has given Jesse a heart for missions and for His people. She has spent three summers working at summer camps, loving and sharing with kids. Jesse has also been blessed with the opportunity to have served in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Through her involvement with MSU Baptist Campus Ministry, Jesse has worked with youth at various youth conferences. She also worked with hurricane relief teams after Hurricane Katrina. “I am excited to see our Father’s love for His people spread into the hearts of His children this summer; to see light bulbs go off, hearts set on fire, and eyes opened to the injustices surrounding us.”

Joy Boven

Joy Boven

Joy was born in Michigan, reared in Wilmore, KY and is currently living in Austin, TX. In high school, she served on mission trips with CSM three separate times, to Chicago, Toronto and Philly. She has also previously worked with CSM as a city host in Nashville (2005) and Los Angeles (2006). Joy is currently attending a community college in Austin. When not in school she is off in search of adventure by rock climbing, mountain biking, camping, running or hanging out with friends. Joy also loves singing and making music when the inspiration hits. “CSM has been a huge part of my life over the years since my first experience in 7th grade. It is a joy to spend time serving with the CSM organization, which is responsible for an awakened love and compassion for the world around me.”

Mary Margaret Gilbert

Mary Margaret Gilbert

Mary Margaret has spent most of her life in Louisiana. She just finished her third year at Louisiana Tech University where she is majoring in English and French with a minor in History. When Mary Margaret is not writing papers, she is playing/leading at the Wesley Foundation, tutoring ESL first graders, mentoring high school girls or getting her service hours in for other organizations she volunteers with. She has not worked with CSM before, but has been on several other mission trips ranging from her neighboring parish in Louisiana to Oklahoma to the Ukraine. In the small amount of free time she has, Mary Margaret likes to share a meal with people, lie in the grass, make lists and avoid her math homework. Her goal is to experience life to the fullest in whatever the moment presents. “I expect lots of those moments this summer with both the people of the city and those coming to visit! I’m coming to Nashville to discover Christ in people and experience life with them.”

James “Jimmy” Marshall

James “Jimmy” Marshall

Jimmy is from Sparks, Nevada. He attends the University of Nevada-Reno and is a Math major, minoring in Photography. He has gone on five mission trips: two to Mexico, one to Costa Rica, and two to San Francisco with CSM. He leads a Bible study and helps the music team for the high-school youth group at his home church in Sparks. When not in class, Jimmy likes to do just about anything outdoors, including: hiking, camping, hunting, driving, taking pictures, relaxing, reading, or sleeping. He also loves to play music and take lots of pictures when it is too cold outside for any of the aforementioned outdoor activities. Jimmy was on staff with CSM in San Francisco the summer of 2007 and is looking forward to hosting in Nashville this summer 2008. “I’m looking forward to meeting lots of new people and being involved with the various ministries in Nashville!”

Breanne McLendon

Breanne McLendon

Breanne is originally from Belzoni, Mississippi but moved to Mountain Home, Arkansas when she was 12. She just graduated from Central Baptist College with a major in Biblical Studies and a minor in Religious Education. Breanne has been on overseas short term mission trips to Spain and Morocco. She has also served with the Christian Activity Center for numerous summers and spring breaks in East St Louis, IL. Breanne worked with the Boys and Girls Club throughout college and served in her church working with the children’s ministry and the youth group. Breanne likes going to the lake, camping, or anything outdoors! Also, she is a huge sports fan especially where football is concerned. GO OLE MISS!! The reason Breanne wants to work with CSM this summer is so she could share her passion with young people. “There is a great need in our own backyard so it is exciting to see Christians giving up part of their summer to lend a helping hand! Also, I am excited to be around people that God has given the same desire to change our Nation!!”

Patrick Wallace

Patrick Wallace

Patrick Wallace is from Hawesville, KY. He is attending Murray State University, majoring in Organizational Communication. He has served in Hurricane relief, has led a student worship service at his home church and as well as two youth conferences focused on the injustices of this world. He enjoys playing the drums, driving around the city, playing tennis, and talking with friends. One unique thing about Patrick is that he’s half deaf and proud of it! He was on staff the summer of 2007 in Nashville and is looking forward to being in Nashville again. “My goal for this summer is to open the eyes of everyone who enters into the ministry of CSM.”
