Julie Bird
Julie is from Kansas City, KS. After completing her first year of college in Nashville at Trevecca Nazarene University, the city stole her heart. Julie is currently a Religion Major, but plans to study both Nutrition and Massage Therapy. She has had the privilege of going on several mission trips within the States including one with CSM to New York City. Julie also spent 30 days in the Amazon jungle and a summer in Guatemala. She has come to love Latin American culture and enjoys speaking broken Spanish. All about the holistic person, she is always up for a healthy, nutritious meal especially when coupled with quality conversation. “Impressed by the mindset of CSM as a whole, I am excited and privileged to be a vessel through which God will speak to the world’s future leaders as we do ministry together!”

Bethany Cleveland
Bethany grew up in a suburb of Detroit, MI and just finished her junior year at Taylor University in IN as a Media Communications/PR Major. She loves exploring new cultures and people. Her mission experiences in high school include trips to Mexico, Trinidad, and Ohio. Each whetted her appetite for further exploration of the world. Bethany spent a semester studying in Lithuania in 2008, and most recently a three week mission trip to Northern Ireland. Despite accusations of being addicted, she likes to think of herself as a coffee connoisuer. She enjoys taking walks, finding good new music, and could survive happily on coffee, sushi, chocolate and popcorn. “During the next couple months, I'm eager to love and serve in new ways. God has ignited within me a passion for learning about the church, social issues, and life in a large city. I hope to see new ways that the Kingdom of God is growing through my fellow co–workers, the groups and the people we serve.”

Jody Glazner
Jody is from Harrisonville, MO. She will be a senior at Missouri State University where she is studying public relations. In high school Jody went on CSM trips to Chicago and Washington D.C. She usually spends a week of her summer at church camp spending time with some awesome 6th grade girls. Jody worked with a small non-profit planning conferences for young women. Right now she is a leader for the 7th grade girls at the church she attends. Jody loves junior high and high school students! She also loves music, her friends and blogging. “I’m so excited for this summer and to see how God transforms the lives of the people we minister to as well as the students who come and serve. I can’t wait to see how our lives change when we follow God and love the way He asks us!”

Jarred Hutto
Jarred is a graduate of Mississippi State University (December 2008), where he earned his degree in Teaching/ Coaching. His hometown is the big town of Starkville , MS. He has a heart for youth ministry, discipleship and evangelism. During his senior year at MSU, he was blessed to serve as Youth Director at Siloam Baptist Church near West Point, MS . Prior to that, he spent 4 summers in Branson, MO at Kanakuk Kamps serving as a youth counselor, unit coordinator and on the leadership staff. Jarred enjoys playing sports of all kinds and while in college, he played on the MSU Ultimate Frisbee Team. In his free time he enjoys writing poetry, playing basketball and hanging out with friends. This summer, at CSM, Jarred hopes to see God work in him and through him – both with the students and within the inner city ministries. “I want to see more clearly how to be His hands and His feet. The King will answer and say to them, ‘Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did it to one of these brothers of Mine, even the least of them, you did it to Me.’ (Matthew 25:40)”

Austin Sauerbrei
Austin grew up in Wichita Falls, TX. He is now a junior Social Entrepreneurship major at Belmont University in Nashville. Austin has been involved with the Belmont University Ministries department and has participated in and led several college mission trips and has also been involved with the local outreach programs at Belmont. Austin hopes to work with connecting University students with local community needs after he graduates from Belmont. Austin loves music, reading, filmmaking, photography and coffee shops. “I love being a part of the Nashville community. I am consistently and constantly blessed by how often Christ shows Himself in the faces of the people we meet on the streets, at the ministry sites, and in the kids that choose to give a week of their summer to come to this city to learn and to seek a closer relationship with Christ.”
