CJ Browne

CJ is from Los Angeles! He attended the Media Art Academy in Southern California and has used his artistic talent to create a couple of large murals at the CSM LA housing site. CJ felt called to missions so he joined CSM. He served with CSM in Los Angeles the spring and summer of 2008 and we are blessed to have him here in New York this year!

Monica Nervaiz

Monica was born and raised in Sacramento, CA. She is currently a Junior at Hope International University majoring in Inter-Cultural Studies. Monica has been on two mission trips to Mexico focusing on physical labor and Childrens Vacation Bible School She has also been on a Choir Tour Mission Trip to Korea. Monica has been very involved in her home church’s Youth group through leading worship, being on the leadership team, speaking, and leading special events. While at school, she is involved in a ministry that makes sack lunches and goes out to downtown Santa Ana to deliver them to the homeless and then spends time loving on them while building relationships. Monica’s interests include public performances such as singing, acting, and dancing, social events, meeting new people, and spending time with family and friends. “My prayer is to simply love anyone and everyone I meet, and that through loving them, I may be serving them. I am spending this semester with CSM-NY because it is a city and culture that I have never experienced before and I am excited to see what God will open my eyes to!”

April Rutkowski

April is from Ocala, Florida. She just graduated in December 2008 from the University of Florida (Go Gators!) with a bachelor’s of science degree in psychology. April has traveled to Shaftesbury, England in 2003 and 2005 to serve God through missions. She also served as president of her high school’s FCA, served on the leadership team in her church’s youth group and worked as a summer camp counselor. April loves traveling and exploring new places, watching TV series, playing board games, ice cream and the color orange! “My passion is loving people. I look forward to investing in the youth that come and in the people of New York City.”
