Christina Cooper

Christina Cooper

Even after a busy spring with CSM in San Francisco, Christina is continuing her ministry with CSM this summer. From Sacramento, California, Chris enjoys anything that has to do with art and music, including playing guitar and bass. She also enjoys reading and scuba diving. In the fall of 2004 she’ll be attending California State University in Sacramento working towards an interior design degree.

Shauna Lott

Shauna Lott

Shauna is from Fishers, Indiana (outside of Indianapolis) and is a graduate of Indiana Wesleyan University with a degree in Psychology and Intercultural Studies (Urban). Her missions experience includes several trips to Chicago and one to Jamaica, as well as last summer as part of our San Francisco staff. While at IWU Shauna has worked with a variety of ministries, including Youth for Christ, Bridges (a nursing home ministry), chaplain in a dorm, and various different Bible studies and mentoring. Her interests include being outdoors, art, music, reading, concerts, or anything where she can be around people having fun. She’s excited to see how God moves this summer in San Francisco, in my heart, the rest of the staff, and the students that will be coming to the city.

Kerry M

Kerry Morin

Born and raised on Vancouver Island, in Victoria, Canada, Kerry just finished her third year at the University of Victoria. She’s completing a double major of French and English with a concentration in Canadian Literature. At her home church she helps with the Sunday morning youth service (“Access”) and in the community she volunteers with secular organizations that work with teens. She enjoys the outdoors and the beach and also loves kittens and ice cream (not together though!). Kerry is looking forward to meeting all the groups and to God broadening her world view while she’s in San Francisco.

Bethany Pearson

Bethany Pearson

Originally from Southern California, Bethany is currently attending Sonoma State University in Northern California. She’s majoring in sociology and minoring in dance, with no idea how she is going to use those two degrees! At SSU she is a part of InterVarsity Christian Fellowship where she leads a bible study. Her missions experience includes two CSM trips one in Los Angeles and the other in San Francisco, Mexico a couple times and an overseas trip to Turkey. She has found that her heart definitely belongs in the inner city. Some of her hobbies and interests are dance, surfing, any type of sports or games and playing the guitar. She is looking forward to having her eyes and other student’s eyes opened to all the different cultures God has created.

Noelle Sefton

Noelle Sefton

Noelle is from Morton, Illinois and is a recent graduate of Olivet Nazarene University in Kankakee, Illinois. She received a degree in English there and was involved in Olivet’s literary magazine, Missions in Action, and several off campus ministries (Save Our Streets and Compassion Ministries). Her second mission trip was to San Francisco in spring 2003, and it was through this experience she developed a passion for San Francisco and ministry within the city. She has recently developed a vision and passion for traveling overseas as a missionary one day, but for now she is thrilled to be following God’s call to San Francisco! This is her second summer as a CSM host for San Francisco, and extremely excited to be a part of the amazing things God has in store for the summer. She hopes to share her passion for San Francisco to those she will be in contact with and is excited to see where the summer will lead!

Lauren Whitinger

Lauren Whitinger

From Nampa, Idaho, Lauren is a sophomore at Northwest Nazarene University studying philosophy with a minor in missions. A veteran of numerous missions trips to various places across the country, including Los Angeles with CSM, she’s been in leadership with my youth group and teaching sunday school to kindergarteners at her church. She likes to read, eat, sleep, talk, and laugh. (Dumb and Dumber is her favorite movie ever!) Lauren’s heart is in missions work, especially inner-city, because God has called us to love the unloved. She’s looking forward to working in the city and with youth groups that are excited to serve.

Charles Williams

Charles Williams

Charles will be a senior at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill and is majoring in Geography with a concentration in Geographic Information Systems, or GIS for short. He’s involved in both Episcopal and Baptist churches in Chapel Hill and has participated in many service opportunities, helping to repair dilapidated housing in North Carolina’s mountains, ministering in Barbados, as well as inner-city Miami, Nashville (through CSM!) and worked weekly in the Chapel Hill homeless shelter. A self-described "marching band dork", Charles also enjoys playing racquetball, basketball, ultimate Frisbee and pick-up football. Charles loves sweet tea, grits and Eastern-NC pork BBQ with slaw (not sure you can find that in San Francisco). He’s looking forward to working with all the CSM students, sponsors and staff in San Francisco and is excited about growing in his own relationship with Christ and helping others grow as well through the variety of people and experiences in which God places him.
