Information coming soon.

Evan Fox

Evan Fox

Evan was born and raised in Reno NV, for the entire 20 years of his life. He is currently attending the University of Nevada but wanted to take a break and figure out where God wants him. Over the last 6 years Evan has been on 10 mission trips, including three CSM trips to San Francisco, and one to LA. He has worked as an intern with the youth department of his local church for the past year and has been a volunteer since graduating from high school in 2006. Evan’s passion in life is music. He has played guitar for 5 years and does not plan on stopping anytime soon! He feels the happiest when he is being productive and passionate, and music is the perfect combination of both. “I am spending the next 8 months with CSM because I feel like God loves me, even though I do not deserve it, and he is ALWAYS FAITHFUL. So … why not share my hope with others.”

Ana Gonzalez

Ana Gonzalez

Ana was born and raised in San Francisco, but has spent most of this past year on the east coast completing her freshman year at Princeton University. On campus, she participates in Princeton Faith and Action (PFA), Athletes in Action, and Princeton Evangelical Fellowship. Additionally, she serves on the PFA outreach team and plays basketball, the best sport in the world, on the women’s club team. She loves country music and dreams of living on a farm. Another dream of hers is to be a missionary abroad (in fact, she has been on two missions trips to Mexicali, Mexico), but she felt called to serve in the city that is everything but foreign to her this summer. “My goals for the summer are to reach out to the people I will be working with and serving, to take risks, and to allow myself to feel uncomfortable in the city I call home.”

Mikayla Huck

Mikayla Huck

Mikayla is from Billings, Montana, and attends Montana State University in Billings, having just finished her first year of college. After four switches of her major she has settled on Secondary Math Education with a minor in Spanish. Mikayla went on three mission trips during high school with one being to Tijuana, Mexico and the other two with CSM in San Francisco! She has worked with junior high and high school kids, leading groups within her church. Mikayla likes to dabble in a variety of activities. She has a black belt in karate, plays the violin, attempts other musical instruments, and she is learning Spanish. Mikayla loves reading a good book with a cup of tea, playing outside, and finding some spontaneous activity to entertain herself with. “I love San Francisco, and I am excited to serve in the city. I cannot wait to lead with such a fantastic staff and to meet all of the groups that will be coming with a heart to serve. I’m excited to learn, stretch, and grow, and love with everyone this summer!”

McKenzie Morris

McKenzie Morris

McKenzie is a homegrown girl from Oklahoma City, OK. She is a senior at Oklahoma State University studying Human Development and Family Science. She first discovered her passion for urban culture in high school after three consecutive mission trips to Chicago. McKenzie thrives in relational ministry situations. She has served for five different Fellowship of Christian Athletes camps and has had the privilege of working three summers as a counselor, unit coordinator, and campus recruiter for Kanakuk; an adventure sports camp that has been ministering to over 20,000 youth each summer for over 80 years. During the school year, she volunteers with K-Life, a ministry where she leads a small group of high school seniors. McKenzie loves competing in intramurals with her sorority, listening to live music, wakeboarding, traveling, and quoting movies. She is so very honored to have the opportunity to lead and serve the students of CSM this summer! “My prayer is that every student, leader, and staff member learns to love unconditionally in Christ as He opens our hearts and eyes to new cultures, environments, and unique experiences within the city of San Francisco.”

Joan Rasmussen

Joan Rasmussen

Joan is from Sulphur, Louisiana and is studying Engineering at Louisiana Tech University. She hopes to go to culinary school and then open a bakery/coffee shop. Joan spends most of her time with friends at the Wesley Foundation, where she is on the leadership team and co-leads a small group. Joan spends her free time leisure bike riding, reading, sewing, drinking coffee, and baking. She also really enjoys being outside in the sun and especially loves flowers. “I have decided to spend my summer working for CSM because I am really interested in urban ministry within the US. I would like to encourage students to truly pursue a relationship with Christ and live in love and community with one another.”

Brooke Roskam

Brooke Roskam

Brooke was born, as a little bouncy redhead, in the mountains in Estes Park, Colorado. As she grew up it was apparent that she loved to help others that were hurting. Throughout her teenage years she enjoyed leading youth group and taking mission trips whenever possible. From Denver to San Francisco to Africa, she was able to show the love of God to others in need. When the time to attend college arrived, Brooke waved goodbye to her little mountain town, and was off to college at Moody Bible Institute in the heart of Chicago, Illinois to study Elementary Education. After countless memories from her first year of college, she came to find that her summer would be filled with even more amazing adventures with CSM. “When I join the CSM San Francisco staff, I have hopes of showing youth from around the country how to serve and love others.”

Amy Sept

Amy Sept

Amy was born in Dallas, TX but grew up near Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. She finished high school in the States, however when her family moved to Sacramento, CA. She will be a junior at William Jessup University in Rocklin, CA, majoring in English with minors in Psychology and Bible. Highlights of Amy’s spring breaks have been numerous mission trips to Cuernevaca, Mexico. Last summer she went to Honduras. Serving in various Children’s ministries have been an important part of Amy’s life. She has enjoyed being a part of Student Leadership organizing Intramurals at her university and looks forward to her job as an RA in the fall. Amy spends her free time reading everything and finding excuses to always have music on. She has played on the women’s soccer team at William Jessup, loves Ultimate Frisbee, art museums, film forums, and good conversations over tea. “I’ve been learning what it means for the desires of my heart to be the same as those of the heart of God and I think His heart is very close to the poor and broken of the inner city. My prayer is to draw closer to the heart of God and to find myself living out the consequences.”

Erica Stetz

Erica Stetz

Erica Stetz is from Normandy Park, Washington. She just finished her second year at Westmont College, studying International Affairs. Erica has been to Tijuana, Mexico four times to build houses and has served with CSM in Chicago as a student and in San Francisco as a leader. She also worked, lived, and studied at Uganda Christian University in Mukono in 2007. Erica hopes to return to live in Africa after graduating. She was the youth ministries intern at John Knox Presbyterian in the summer of 2007 and was involved in YoungLife and youth group in high school. Erica throws the shot put, discus, and hammer at Westmont. She also enjoys reading, laughing, being in the sun, and exploring new places. “I am looking forward to working with all of the different groups that come to the Bay Area this summer. Hopefully they will be as diverse as San Francisco and Oakland! I believe that following Jesus means stepping out of your comfort zone and showing love to people that society finds hard to love. I hope to broaden students’ perception of a mission trip from a one week event to a daily posture of the heart that seeks Jesus.”

Will Stevens

Will Stevens

Will was born in Inglewood, CA and graduated from Southern Nazarene University in Bethany, OK with a major in Urban Ministries. He has been on mission trips to Mexico, South Africa, Mozambique, Swaziland, and Malawi and with CSM to San Francisco in the 7th and 8th grades. Will also worked as an intern with Nazarene Disaster Response to lead youth groups to help in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. Whenever he is home (currently Twin Falls, ID), he also stays involved with his youth group. Will loves to run, to hang out with friends and to be active in any way. He loves being around people and really enjoyed college where he made lots of friends during his four years. Most of all Will loves Africa, and everything about it. He spent fall semester in Uganda and learned so much about God, about himself, and others. By the end of his time in Uganda the people he worked with became like family. “I am serving this summer in San Francisco because it is the place where I first learned about missions, and where I got my calling to serve God through missions. I have a passion to serve and this is the perfect place.”

Tara Tremblay

Tara Tremblay

Tara is from Attleboro Massachusetts and graduated in May 2008 from Newbury College bachelor’s degree in Psychology. She has been accepted into the MSW program at Boston College and if it is God’s will she will start there full time in September. Tara has been organizing short term mission trips at college for three years (day trips and week long Habitat for Humanity excursions). She has been involved with youth in many capacities but has mostly counseled at-risk youth and helped with after school programs that promote higher education. Tara is blessed to have had the opportunity to be a part of starting the first Christian Ministry at her college. With the Holy Spirit guiding her group and the perpetual joy they find in Christ’s example, they have been continuously experiencing success, growth and answers through this ministry. Tara enjoys fun nail polish, going out to eat, the sunshine, morning devotionals, coffee shops, laser tag, picnics and going to the gym. She has been given a heart that thrives in the city so urban ministry, which is something so important to society, comes naturally to her. “I want to share the relationship I have with God with those I encounter in the city. Since CSM does a great job bridging the gap between urban and rural communities and ministries, I think this experience will help me to bridge the gap between the East and West.”
