Josiah Brown

Josiah Brown

Josiah grew up in Spokane, WA. He is a sophomore at Whitworth University, studying Theology, and Leadership. He went on two CSM trips to San Francisco while in junior high, and has been on other mission trips every year since. Josiah is an associate leader with a junior high youth group in Spokane and last summer was a counselor at a wilderness camp for junior and senior high kids. He is also involved in a group that delivers meals to low income and homeless people in Spokane. Josiah loves being and doing anything outdoors, especially napping in his hammock. He enjoys cycling, playing Frisbee, hanging with friends and playing his djembe. “I have a heart for the urban poor and a desire to make the world a better place. My hope is to open the eyes of those that come on trips this summer and instill some of the same passion in them.”

Michaela Brunt-Pluta

Michaela Brunt-Pluta

Michaela is from San Diego, CA. She is a sophmore at Mira Costa College and is currently taking a semster off before transferring to a four-year university in California. She is studying fine art with an emphasis on studio arts and painting. Michaela has not been on mission trips in the past, but is so excited to be on staff because she has always had the desire to serve in the mission field. She has co-led a college bible study group and has a heart for working with kids. Michaela loves to surf, paint and play guitar. She loves diversity and interacting with different cultures. “I see God’s beauty each day through his children in the city. I hope to share with the CSM students the joy of serving God by extending a loving hand to those in need around us.”

Allison Kluck

Allison Kluck

Allison is from Oklahoma City, and goes to school at Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Oklahoma. She is studying Human Development and Family Science, and will be going to nursing school in the fall of 2009. Allison first developed a passion for missions in high school on a trip to the Dominican Republic. Since that trip, she has continued to develop a passion for serving people and sharing with them the gospel of Jesus Christ. Allison has great friends in Stillwater, and loves to spend time with them. They ride bikes, build campfires, play games, and just be around one another. “I am spending my summer with CSM because I have a passion for serving people and sharing the gospel. I hope to share this passion with students who serve with CSM, and encourage them to develop a love for serving God’s people, and support them in growing in their relationship with our great God.”

Maggie Long

Maggie Long

Maggie was born and raised in Boonville, MO. She is currently a senior at UCM as an Art Education major. She has been on various mission trips including to Oklahoma City, Garden City (KS), Peru, Haiti, Chicago, and New Orleans. Each trip consisted of different work sites and service opportunities. She has served as a youth group leader for the past three years, serving also at different youth retreats and camps. Maggie has also been a part of the leadership team at her University’s campus BSU ministry. She enjoys just about everything, especially anything spontaneous or adventurous. She loves trying new things, traveling and meeting new people. “I love to laugh and will make it my goal to bring a smile to your face. My goal for the summer is to help youth serve the community of San Francisco and God in a life changing way, as well as grow in their faith.”

Johnmark Mangiameli

Johnmark Mangiameli

Johnmark is from Manila, Philippines. He just graduated from Moody Bible Institute with a Youth Ministry degree. He had lived overseas until he was 18 as a missionary kid and has been on mission trips to both Mexico and Haiti. Johnmark has 5 years of experience working with both junior and senior high students. He has done both service related work as well as spiritual development. He is currently involved as a leader in a senior high discipleship group. He enjoys most sports (basketball and baseball are not his favorite) and would love to teach youth how to play rugby. He could spend all day at the beach enjoying the sand, sun and the salt water. “I hope to be able to help show the youth that come to serve with CSM what missions and urban work looks like. In doing this I hope to show them that living a life in service to God can look as simple as serving your neighbor by providing for their holistic needs. I also hope that I can learn from the service organizations about serving in my own community. I also know I will gain much experience and wisdom from the youth who have come to serve for a week.”

She really enjoys experiencing new things and different cultures, and is fond of playing 4-square. “Sharing Jesus’ love with others has always been a passion of mine and I hope to share with the CSM students this joy, also with the hope that they find something that they love in the process.”
