Alexis Thore

Alexis Thore

Alexis Thore is a small town girl coming from Mooresville, NC. She is majoring in communications (or at least she thinks) at Salem College. Already she’s had a multitude of serving opportunities and is currently serving as a Missions Outreach Chair with her InterVarsity chapter, and also is a Young Life Leader. She is excited about coming to D.C. For Alexis, this is a new element of life, especially living in a big city!

Alice Barnes

Alice Barnes

Alice Rose Barnes is coming to us all the way from outside of Los Angeles in San Pedro. She’ll be a senior at Trinity College in Hartford, CT in the fall majoring in International Studies with a focus on Asia. After years of leading and organizing secular community service projects in the US and a year of teaching and studying China, she felt called to what she loves in a Christian setting. She’s pumped about this summer in DC and hopes that through this experience God will give her direction on what to do after graduation.

Joanne Lee

Joanne Lee

Joanne Lee is a junior at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill studying Interpersonal Communication and Social and Economic Justice. She hopes to get some first hand experience this summer on how these disciplines work out in an urban environment. She enjoys singing, reading up on Piper, listening to shaneandshane, and being outside. She also likes movies that make her think, getting email from friends (!!!), and eating in general, but specifically her favorite summer treat is watermelon with peanut butter.

Kip Hart

Kip Hart

Kip Hart was born and raised in Richmond, VA. A word that describes Kip best is supercalafragalisticxbealadocious (you’ll have to ask him why!). Kip is majoring in Religious Studies at Virginia Commonwealth University and has a small addiction to Starbucks. Some may call it a problem, but he says they are just overreacting.

Kristyn Weidner

Kristyn Weidner

Kristyn Weidner was born and raised in Pottstown, PA, and majored in Youth Ministry/Theological Studies at Eastern University in St. Davids, PA. Kristyn is a veteran of two CSM trips, one to Nashville and one to D.C. During those trips she experienced the ministry of the city hosts that led her group and she determined to serve with CSM some day. This is Kristyn’s second summer in DC.

Sara Clark

Sara Clark

Sara Clark was born and raised a Navy girl, so she’s lived all over the world, but is proud to call Virginia Beach, VA home, at least for now. She is a government/history major at the College of William & Mary, and is ready for another adventure this summer after just finishing her freshman year. She loves watching sappy WB soap operas, listening to music, and going on vacation to her grandparent’s house in Colorado! Oh yeah, and there’s that whole passion for God thing…

Will Johnston

Will Johnston

Will Johnston grew up in Bolingbrook, a suburb of Chicago. He’s a student at Wheaton College in Wheaton, IL, (another suburb of Chicago) and majoring in theology, Bible, and philosophy. He wants to attend an east coast seminary after graduation and then see where God leads from there. This summer is his attempt to respond to God’s call on his life, following where he leads.
